MIHO Museum 土偶コスモスDogu, figurines that date from the Jomon Period (14,000 BCE - 300 BCE), will be on display at the Miho Museum this fall.
The figurines may have three fingers, raised arms, odd physiques, wry expressions, bits of red pigment, or even no face.
The people in the Jomon Period, in addition to making these kiln-fired items, also produced lacquerware. Among them were sake bottles and cups, earrings, bracelets, and combs.
These and more will be on display at the always wonderful Miho Museum.
