Kyoto Hokongoin Temple Lotus Blossom

Lotus Hokongo-in Kyoto盛夏の大輪 はや見ごろ 法金剛院で観蓮会

Affectionately known as the Lotus Temple, Hokongo-in Temple is now coming into bloom.

The temple boasts some 90 types of lotus in its watery gardens.

Because of the early end of the rainy season, the lotus flowers this year are blossoming slightly earlier than normal.

Visitors can see the lotus plants until August 4. There is an entrance fee.

The temple is across the street from JR Hanazono Station on Marutamachi Dori, and on the way from central Kyoto to Toei Kyoto Studio Park.
