Along Oike Dori in central Kyoto, the tow truck made its rounds in mid-March.
Bicycle parking is prohibited in many areas of Kyoto, and there is always clear signage alerting cyclists to this.
However, many ignore these rules.
With the great increase in parking spaces - many along Oike Dori - we have little sympathy for the owners of the bikes being towed.
