Cycle Mode FESTA 2012 in Osaka

The Asia & Pacific Trade Center is on the manmade island in Osaka Bay called Nanko or Sakishima, which is full of hotels and venues that cater to businesses.

From October 6 - 8, the Cycle Mode FESTA 2012 in Osaka will be taking place here.

Along with a partner event in the Tokyo area, the Cycle Mode FESTA 2012 in Osaka is the annual bike show in Japan.

This year's event has been pushed forward to October, and is a must attend.

All of the big names in domestic and international cycling will be on hand with their new models. In Japan, new models are released in the fall. Here is a list from the official home page of makers that will be on hand.

In addition, a highlight is the chance to try out some of the new models.

In the Main Hall, there will be a cycling course on which you can ride a bike.

The procedure is:

1. Apply (fill out a form)
2. Issuance of Bike Pass (a blue bracelet)
3. Choose Bike
4. Head on to Course
5. Return Bike

In other halls, many of Japan's bicycle NPOs will be on hand with literature and information.

It is a great day out.

Access

From Umeda, Honmachi, Shinsaibashi, Nanba, take the Chuo Subway Line to Honmachi. From there, it is 18 minutes to Cosmos Square.

From Osaka Station, take the Kanjo Circle Line towards Tennoji. Change at Bentencho for the Chuo Subway Line.
