Hard by the JR Sobu/Chuo Line tracks is the Yokozuna Bicycle Lot.
You know you are in sumo land.
Thanks to the statue of two wrestlers in front of the station, the main sumo hall adjacent to the station, and all the touristy stuff on sale nearby, there is no mistaking what the area of Ryogoku is famous for.
For those who want to cycle to the area - which includes the wonderful Edo-Tokyo Museum - the Yokozuna Bicycle Lot awaits. For 24 hours, the fee is 100 yen. The lot is open 24 hours a day.
A Yokozuna is of course a Grand Champion, the wrestler who sits at the pinnacle of the sumo world. Today the Mongolian Hakuho (pictured below on the right) is one of two Yokozuna.
Fellow Mongolian Harumafuji was recently promoted as the second Yokozona, following his defeat of Hakuho.
