The Japanese police are at it again.
Due to a perceived plague of traffic accidents caused by reckless cyclists, the metropolitan police are considering requiring remedial classes for those who commit offenses.
According to police data, there were 140,000 accidents involving bicycles in Japan in 2011. Out of that total, there were 621 fatalities.
Sixty-five percent of those accidents were caused by ignoring a traffic light.
Although the number of accidents has not increased in recent years, the police are planning on a December kick off for remedial classes for repeat offenders.
