The mother of a child on a bike that hit and left a woman bedridden has been ordered to pay 95.2 million yen in damages.
The accident occurred five years ago in Kobe, Japan, when the boy was speeding down a hill and struck a woman in her 60s.
The woman was knocked over and hit her head. She is now 67 and remains bedridden.
On July 4, a judge in Kobe ruled that the mother of the boy is liable and must pay the above amount, which is roughly $950,000.
